The dig in 2016 will take place 3-28 July, Although many details are still being finalized, this summer will be the last major season of excavation for the Concordia team. We will conclude work on the east side of the House of Tyche and we will explore the southeast corner of the building directly north of the Northeast Church.
We will arrive in Israel on Friday before the dig, and will plan day trips around the Sea of Galilee and to Jerusalem (see security page) on subsequent weekends. Please review the pages on this part of the menu for full details. Applications must be received by 1 April.
Volunteers are critical to the work at Hippos. While archaeological excavation can be most arduous work, sometimes the finds are tremendous.
