The best parts about the Philly airport: Dunkin’ Donuts, MacDonald’s bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit, and chairs without arms that facilitated sleeping!

Liz and Caleb are gonners, but Alex looks very perky! He must have slept better on the 12 hour flight from Tel Aviv.

On Thursday evening, after seeing Rachel off to the airport, the “remnant” had dinner together at En Gev’s Fish Restaurant. We arrived in time to watch the sunset.

Andrea and Cameron Heiliger were delighted to be back for a FULL season this time. Andrea was the illustrator and Cameron moved LOTS of rocks in 4 weeks.

Here’s an updated video for the women of ZZ99 who started digging in this square the first day. The interview with Anna and Rachel is from the second to last day; we “finished” working on the square on the final day of the day. Great job, women of ZZ99!

Our surveyors, Mark Wood and Wayne Mory, arrived on Saturday afternoon. Sunday they and Mark Schuler drove to Haifa to rent the scanning equipment. By Sunday afternoon, they were scanning the NE church to provide a complete record of the excavation. Work was going slowly in the heat of the day … so they scanned ALL NIGHT! Engineering student Liz Horgan assisted, as did CSP Honors student Anna Fink, who is always ready for an adventure.
