As I work through materials and update information on the excavation here, I have added a new section to the menu: Publications. It is a list of current bibliography about the NIP with links to available materials. Also, I have added a section on the 2019 study season to the report menu. A number of these items will also appear on the Academia and Digital Commons sites. Much more to come!
After two delays in service of the university and students, I am beginning a sabbatical year, one of the prime purposes of which is to put all the research from seasons at Hippos of the Decapolis into a final form. Over the next months, you will see many updates and changes to this site, as it will be one of the prime repositories for this material. I look forward to the opportunity.
Thanks to actions of the Board of Regents at Concordia Saint Paul, I have been approved for a sabbatical for the coming school year. The primary purpose of this sabbatical is to prepare a final report on the Northeast Insula Project at the Hippos Excavations.
I will again spend a month this summer at Sussita conducting a study season. I will completely re-examine and re-describe the site. Part of this work will involve making a 3D digital scan of the complete work using the Leica BLK360 scanner.
I also plan to use this blog site to track the work and update followers on my progress.
Again, my thanks to the university for making this sabbatical possible.
